some thoughts on spiritual DIY

Last night I have drawn an eye of Horus and a Sirian Seal and stick them up onto my wall. Since I started making my own pyramid with copper wires, I have gained confidence in making spiritual equipments. I have this feeling that those hand made by myself are better than those I can get out there, because I made those and it’s unique, because my higher self knows what I need so it should be the best when I make them myself, subconsciously knowing what I need.

And needless to say it’s cheaper to do things yourself, compare drawing the eye of Horus and getting an accessory (e.g. a pendant) with the eye of Horus. With the thought that DIY-ing one’s own spiritual stuff would be the best for him/her, I have been wondering if people are kind of trading their fear away when they buy every spiritual things when they can make it themselves (here i mean the spiritual things you can make yourself). Remember money is a kind of energy, is a form of love, so if we exchange money for unnecessary spiritual stuff, maybe we’re not trusting ourselves that we can make them ourselves, and thus we’re trading our fear away to buy not only the physical object, but also a sense of reassurance before one learns to trust oneself. But what’s more important is the meaning of the symbol or the spirituality, it’s not the physical object itself, so I think if it makes you comfortable, either buying or DIY would be great if it makes you feel comfortable.

Well if you asked me a few years back then I wouldn’t believe I would trust things I created has power in them. Fear and doubt are the old paradigms and sometimes too powerful to get rid of, so I understand if people don’t feel comfortable making things themselves. But just saying, it’s so much fun and it would help you gain confidence and self-esteem if you start creating spiritual stuff yourselves, it’s amazing to trust in something you created. No one said it was easy to learn to trust yourselves, but it’s exactly what we need to learn how to be with fear and doubt when they grow in your bosom.

I’m planning to make my own wand, and I felt the great need to include wood in my wand. Well let’s see!

Sex is an art. There should be no shame in having to learn it, to practice it, to ask questions about it, to communicate with one’s partner about it, to plan for it, to read about it, to experiment with it. We shouldn’t have to feel like failures in magnetic sexual power when we prove not to be mind readers who can expertly figure out all that a specific partner needs and wants without ever having to talk about it explicitly. We shouldn’t feel like our pleasures are unreal or not worth it for our partners if they take some work to achieve. We shouldn’t have to feel like we cannot deliberately schedule sex lest it be inherently routinized. We shouldn’t feel like there is no way to deliberately create a sexual mood lest we be faking it. We shouldn’t have to fear that committing to a lifetime of sex with someone (whether monogamously or polyamorously) is a death sentence to passion. In lovemaking familiarity can breed an intimacy and mutual understanding and rhythm and experimentation and practice and mutual experience that can make the whole thing richer and more reliably satisfying than many barely pre-discussed one night stands with all their risks of miscommunication and hit-and-miss experiments and social norms against treating sex like something intimate friends do rather than something only for the mindless animals within us all.

Thank you. exactly what i need!

You know what? No. No, I do not think that girl is as beautiful as the woman on the right. And before you social justice bloggers come stampeding into my askbox, wondering how I could be such a heartless, bitch- hear me out.
The girl on the left isn’t beautiful. The girl on the left does not have flawless skin, or blonde hair, or baby-blue eyes or a pair of double-d’s. What she is, however, is sick. And telling her that she’s beautiful as an attempt to comfort her? Is just plain cruel.
You’re telling her that she’s only redeemable when she’s beautiful. You don’t give a damn about her illness, no. You just want to sleep at night, thinking what a great person you are for lying to a little girl. Do you think that girl believes she is truly, in the eyes of society, beautiful? She doesn’t. And I dare someone to look me in the eyes and say she’s wrong. We all know she’s not beautiful, but we tell her otherwise, tell ourselves otherwise because we feel guilty and we think that, by “saving” this poor, ill child with false claims of beauty, we are better people because of it.
That girl is beautiful because she is fighting. She’s beautiful because she isn’t beautiful, not in all the physical ways we obsess over. She’s beautiful because of her personality- and that is why her’s is a life worth living.
Not because some stranger on the internet lied, and told her she’s “beautiful”.

oh my god thank you

beautiful: the women issue

it’s the magazine to read, really.

There’s always someone asking you to underline one piece of yourself - whether it’s black, woman, mother, dyke, teacher, etc. - because that’s the piece they need to key into. They want to dismiss everything else.

On spiritual judgment, from my inner pilot light

When you get skilled at listening to my voice, you may deem yourself more “spiritual.” You may even judge the people who can’t hear their Inner Pilot Lights quite as well. Your ego may make you “superior,” but then, of course, my voice grows dim.

Resist the temptation to make your spiritual growth an opportunity for judgment. We are all on spiritual paths, evolving as our souls have agreed to evolve.

We are all doing the best we can.

We are all connected to Source, and at our Divine essence, we are all One, Inner Pilot Light to Inner Pilot Light. Inner Pilot Lights never judge, only egos do.

Remember to love without spiritual strings.

what i thought about emotional quotient was right!

suppressing doesnt make emotions go away, the only way to let them “go away” is to acknowledge them and let them be part of you, then you don’t feel the need to make it go away. emotions exists for a reason.
